Recent studies have established it for a fact that indoor air is more polluted than outdoor air and this can be to the level of 2 to 10 times higher than the outdoor pollution level. Such a fact is indeed scary, especially after you know that so much is being done to bring down the levels of outdoor pollution.

Previously all you could do was open the windows of your house to let fresh air come in. although this works to a certain extent, it hardly is enough. But if you have a tight budget and you think that the air inside your room is not healthy to breathe in then invest on one of these cheap air purifiers. They will not be as efficient as the more sophisticated models, but still the air quality in your room will improve significantly.

 Only trust those reviews that list both the pros and the cons of each of the models. They shouldn't be promoting one purifier while trashing the others. In such a case, the reviews have to be biased.

 Most of them do come with HEPA filters. So you also need to check if the replacement filters are not too expensive. Sometimes even if the unit is cheap the filters turn out to be much too expensive. Or they are required to be changed after short periods.

 Before you select a particular model, do get some homework done. There are a whole range of models available, so don't just settle for the one you see first. There are things to consider. Price is only one of the factors. You also need to think about the features, the capacity, the filter, etc. the best place to get your research done.

There are also websites which allow you to compare products on the basis of price and features. These are great places to form an idea about what the market has on offer. These websites also carry information regarding special discounts offered by any vendors.
